Sent Messages missing body content

For about a week now , when I send a message and then go back to look at that message through the search local folders .. When I reopen my sent message -- It has no body content to it .. The people I email are getting the content -- It is just not copying it all into the sent folder . Any suggestions ?

Not normal

What you are experiencing is not normal.

I'd try some troubleshooting steps, such as:

  • First, make a backup copy of the whole folder and put it aside
  • Check for disk errors or file errors
  • Start ThunderbirdPortable "safe" with no add-ons
  • Use no other kinds of extras or chrome mods
  • Empty trash and compact all folders
  • Try existing copy on the hard drive instead of flash drive
  • Try installing a fresh copy of ThunderbirdPortable over your existing one
  • Try the newest version (just released today) over your existing one
  • Try a new installation (instead of upgrading existing one)

Thanks for the suggestions --

Thanks for the suggestions -- I actually did make a back up -- Installed a fresh copy and Pasted my Data into that copy - Same issue -- It is just the search feature where I have this issue -- New emails that we send are just fine , however when we search them at a later date and open them -- The body content is missing , so I can not see what I sent - Just that we did send something -- It is not affecting older emails

Configs?

Dunno.

Indexing drove me nuts as it was building its data. The setting in Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> General -> "Enable Global Search and Indexer" is unchecked. Maybe your index has an issue?

cockpit error - results list

Perhaps you are only looking at the search results list? That won't show body info.

That is, when you use search, you select an area of the messages to search (body, subject, date, From, etc) and what you are looking for in there.

When it finds matching messages it shows them in list form, with the SUBJECT, date, From..., but NO body info.

There might be many messages that qualify. It does NOT show you the body of the message(s) yet. This is just a list of messages matching your search key(s).

To see the body of a message, you open that message. Select one of the matching messages in the search results and click the OPEN button or just double click it and the body is shown.

Someone jump in and say if there is a way to show the body while surveying the found messages in other ways. Maybe there is an extension or some setting I don't know about.

The message body does not

The message body does not show up when double clicked .. If I have a list of 100 messages - All the older dates will show up ... It must be a setting somewhere

Donwload only headers

Hi,
Maybe your account settings is not correctly configure.
In your account server settings, is the "Download only headers" option checked ?
If it is checked, try to uncheck it.

Sorry, I took a look at my account settings (all are POP3) and did not find anything else.
