I don't think this post is a good idea.

We don't want to offend the developers of those apps.

EXACTLY! So then let's talk about ''What good apps aren't portab

portable but should be''

But sadly, I can't mention it, because John put a 9/11-terrorist style duct-taping of my mouth, even though on his personal website, he dedicate portion in remembrance (I'm assuming cuz I only glean the subject heading but did not actually follow-through-click on the link). Then he proceeded to comment my emphases in my posts are, to quote him: ''RANDOM''!!! AS IF his resume, he also ran-dom-ly emphasized diff points with no carefully weighed notions why those points that he DID emphasized--were all just randoms!!

If we all start gonna hold these unnecessary censorship close to our hearts in our society and/or this forum, let's all of us go live in those terrorist states then, NO? ANd here I'm am, I thought we all living in a country called the US of A??!!!!

I'm sadly disappointed! No open, opposing viewpoints, democratic discussion here. As long as they aren't too insulting, sexual/sexist, advocating terrorism, etc, whatnot, you get the drift......then they are all good as they say!!!

So can you start said thread in 1st sentence for me gluxon? Cuz my hands asre also duct-taped! Thanks, homey!

You've got some humor in your posts, and I respect that you're trying to make members of the community laugh a bit, but could we lay off the internet slang please? Thanks. Smile

I understand you're a bit upset that BurnAware isn't being made portable, but you might be a bit happy for the surprise I'm dropping next week. Smile

We actually, do have a lot of democratic discussions around here. Take a look at the Firefox UI discussion Smile

Oh, I love u Santa! So it's Xmas whenever I want?!! April too?!

Well, it would be if MY wish really can come true!

So I'm wishing & praying real hard for it (and to become a real boy too--and my nose ain't growing)!!

Thanks, gluxon! Eagerly awaiting & anticipating! Could it be? Could it? (It could, right?)

Foxit Reader is CLOSED-source but you guys figurED out what to do/how to approach it, afterall!! I know you guys are resourceful and have the wherewithal, right!! Had this Pinocchio been a real-life programmer, I would have told so many tall tales, and my schnoz would of wrapped itself more than once around the globe (and taken a crack at porta it myself...but since I'm not a real boy nor a real programmer..............)!! HA HA!

I'm not going to sleep tonight, Daddy Geppetto!

well you may live in the US

well you may live in the US of A but I live in Canada, and you know what John was being reasonable, you came bolting in demanding stuff without listening properly to what was John telling you, to me thats just plain ignorance on your behalf, I'm not trying to be mean or anything, I'm just pointing out what I saw from what you and John were posting about.

Mac-on-Stick. Its of

Mac-on-Stick. Its of questionable legality, outdated, and not at all supported. There's been discussion of removing it as long as i've been a member here, yet it remains on the site for some reason.

this is true

Though apple provides their older finder (6.x) for free it runs nearly nothing and is closed source. plus you need the bios of a VERY old Mac and its not easy to find nor is distributing the bios legal. :(.

if you didnt mentione it zach i would have Biggrin

Sudoku Portable

Sudoku Portable. Its problems are widely documented. The biggest one is that it doesn't always generate legal Sudokus. To be legal, a Sudoku must have 1-9 in every row, column, and sub-box -- it does all that -- but it must also be solvable without guessing, and that's where it sometimes fails. It also must have only one solution, and it sometimes fails at that, too.

Mac on a Stick is obvious because of its questionable legality, but since I was beaten to it (twice) I'll go with Sudoku Portable. (And I'm not knocking whoever made it portable, but the app itself.)

What's the purpose?

This sounds suspiciously like a troll; what's the purpose of asking? As gluxon said, the relevant dev(s) is (are) going to be offended. Even if they aren't, John probably will be (and rightly so) because people are poking holes in his brainchild.
Really, if an app is so terrible just don't use it.

(And on a side note, I do agree with the Mac-on-a-stick analysis; I was unable to install it without some major help from Mac users, who apparently have the app(s) required to unpack the bizarre archives this thing needs, and I couldn't get any software installed anyway at that point.)

"The question I would like to know, is the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe and Everything. All we know about it is that the Answer is Forty-two, which is a little aggravating."

Mac On A Stick

Mac on a stick links offsite, is legally questionable, has no practical use, is hard to setup, is not a direct link, not in PAF format, the list could go on.

True but pointing out flaws helps the devs make better apps. I can't make apps so that's why I blame google. Expect for the mod of CMD Portable BUT its still a mod.
