Hi, I know this has been asked before, but I can't seem to find the link to the app anymore.
I would like to see a portable version of XMing that is end-user friendly. That means no need to copy the application from the hard disk after installing (which the end user will not be able to if the computer is locked down and he only has limited user status). The reason being that they're the perfect companion to PuTTY Portable and provides means of running GUI applications remotely via PuTTY. I think a beta was made in the past, I downloaded it but have since lost the installer (accidentally formatted the memory card the installer was in). And for some reason I could no longer find the link to the installer. Any help will be appriciated. Thanks.
Was just looking at their website , neat program. Apparently they have a version for portable Putty..... At a price http://www.straightrunning.com/XmingNotes/#head-15 don't know if that is worth it for you or not?

Portable PuTTY is different. PuTTY's a SSH client. XMing is a X Windows Server.
The version of PuTTY is to be used on systems that already have XMing installed. Thing is, I want XMing to reside on the thumb drive so I can invoke it anywhere I go, not reside on the computer.
Nevermind, I should have read your post more carefully.
Fortunately, my computer isn't locked down so I can install and copy.
I just clicked on my link and there was a download for a version that will reside on your USB stick. Is it that you wanted it in PA Format?Wow I need to read better was answering a different post thinking it was here
