I was wondering if this tweak would break FFP's portability. I'm talking about the about:config tweak that drops FF's RAM usage to a mere 10MB when minimized. But reading up on it more, it seems that it goes to the local hard drive.
This tweak: config.trim_on_minimize (Bool: True)
"This little fix will move Firefox to your hard drive when you minimize it, and as a result it will take up less than 10MB of memory while minimized."
Now I could just be reading this wrong since the article is not for the portable version, but have any of you tried this? What are your results? My flash drive is rather slow, so I do everything I can to minimize usage.
Second thought, if it did write to the flash, wouldn't that just use more of the flash anyway, and defeat the purpose?

This works fine but won't help the speed of your flash drive at all. It just tells Firefox to trim the amount of RAM it's using while running when you minimize it, that's all. The tips for slowness are all contained in our support section.
