BUG: Secure web site causes BSOD

Hello all. I use Firefox Portable 3.6 on my WinXP SP3 desktop machine, and in addition to various crashes, I get a BSOD pretty regularly when visiting the US Navy Human Resources site (https://chart.donhr.navy.mil). I may or may not have the nerve to do further testing, although I do have the last RAM dump if needed. I think the only extra extensions I've added are Flash 10.0 and Tab Mix Plus 0.3.8.2.

Since this is a third-party package I assume that this is more likely to get fixed if I report it here (not Firefox's own tracker), but if I'm wrong please tell me so. What other information ought I to record?

Any insight you folks can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Odd

I am running XP SP3 and same version of FF. I click on your link and get the following message.

This Connection is Untrusted

You have asked Firefox to connect
securely to chart.donhr.navy.mil, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.

Normally, when you try to connect securely,
sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are
going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.

What Should I Do?

If you usually connect to
this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is
trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.

Technical Details

chart.donhr.navy.mil uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown.

Re: Odd

Right. As I recall, I have to create the security exception and run a few searches before it happens. Works fine on IE 8 though!

For the purpose of this discussion I have to assume that the US Navy is not trying to make low-level adjustments to my computer when I visit their site. (Because if it is, then there's nothing I can do about it anyway. :>

Not normal

That's not normal at all. There's probably something weird about the computer configuration which is making the computer unstable.

He

An application in Windows should be incapable of triggering a BSOD. It should require a driver to do that.
