I need to select a date range of messages (several hundred) from main inbox to an archived inbox. How can I move so many msgs at one time from folder to folder?

does marking them and then drag and drop not work with this amount of messages?
I never had to move so many messages, but slightly smaller amounts it did work.

Can't you setup a manually run message filter? You can specify the age of emails less than or greater than, or you can use exact dates. You can even have the filter move the messages automatically.
I think this is the type of thing filters are meant for.
