Maybe it's not partitioned correctly?
Plug your external drive in, right click on "My Computer" and choose "Manage", then go to the Disk Management tool. That will tell you if there is any unpartitioned space on the drive.
Alternatively you can get to computer management through "administrative tools" on the control panel.
I'm assuming you've scanned the drive for errors... still that's a lot of errors to be missing some 175GB!
What format is the drive?
It says it is the active primary partition.
No errors.
The Format of the drive is FAT32
Either you got a 250GB external case, with an 80GB drive inside it... Or you have a 75GB partition, and ~175GB of unpartitioned space at the end.
How old is your motherboard? Does this happen with other large drives?
I think the motherboard is 3-4 years old.
The Desktop's Hard Drive size is 250GB with 2 partitions and is working fine.
