Hibernation Problems in windows 7

My Windows 7 desktop doesn't hibernate. After it hibernates, it turns on immediately.

Here are the advanced power options.

Maybe that's because you have

Maybe that's because you have "Put the computer to sleep" as "Never"?

Try changing "Sleep After"

Try changing "Sleep After" and "Hibernate After" to some value and turning "Hybrid Sleep" on.

Motherboard problem?

Have you tried searching the Internet for the problem? This sounds typically like a motherboard BIOS problem for which there may be a patch available.

(I'm working on the assumption that this isn't a Windows 7 issues itself).

This sounds like a problem I used to have

Is it connected to a network. With my computer as soon as I removed the network cable it stopped coming out of hibernate or sleep right away. Could deal with a wake on lan setting.

Human interference possible

Do you do something with your computer before it reaches the hibernation mode?

I only have Windows 7 on a laptop computer, but I have noticed that if I touch the computer in any way during the time it takes to go into hibernation mode, it wakes up instantly. But if I wait 30 seconds or so until it hibernates (lights off, etc.), then it stays in hibernation mode.

By "touching the computer", I mean any action such as: closing the lid, disconnecting the network, removing a USB card, shaking the mouse, etc.

Leave a word processor up and

Leave a word processor up and leave the computer for ten or so minutes. See if it has anything typed onto the screen. Whilst it is doing this, watch the mouse for any minute movements.

Either that, ot you said the mouse and keyboard were wireless. Set the computer to hibernate. Whilst it is hibernating, take the batteries out of the keyboard and leave the mouse batteries in. If it wakes up, it's probably your keyboard. Repeat this without the keyboard batteries.

This may halp you figure out what (if anything) is faulty. Otherwise, it is probably a bad installation.

the usb is the one that wakes up the pc but if i hibernate the computer after a successful hibernation, the pc still wakes up even after removing the usb
