Google SketchUp

Has any tried to create a portable launcher for Google SketchUp?

I've looked through the forums and seen some old discussions about it, but it looks like it was abandoned because it wasn't open source. I figured that now that we have some freeware programs and the installer is able to download installers and extract them that it would be worth another look.

If no one has tried it, I might give it a stab. I've not played the the download capabilities of the installer yet.

I've given it a quick

I've given it a quick try/look over before, and gave up due to the shear amount of dll's needing to be registered (I believe to remember)

Surely a very nice app though, and very easy to get the hang of the 3d modeling. It was the only app I could properly use within a short day of trial & error !

Wish you good luck on it.

google sketch is ideal quick and simple to do modeling.

Blender is very complex.

It is important that a person can portabiliser Google sketchup.

Can that be ABVENT is interested in the adventure of a portable version?
They have an adventure with Google
Or Could be that Google is interested in the adventure of a portable version?

Google seem not interested

Making Google applications portable has been discussed many times, both here and on the google forums. There has never been any positive official response from Google about it, and the way their applications are coded can make it very difficult to make them portable.

It could have something to do

It could have something to do with Google's internal debate on whether to focus 100% on web based apps or still support desktop apps.

yes I think

yes I think

there has something to do.
For the moment, I is not found as convenient software to quickly make 3D modeling.
I also think that many of us want to use this software portable solution.
