Is there a way to have categories on the left side of the Portable App Menu? If you download all the apps, it would be nice to have categories to find what your lookng for

In November of '08 it was supposed to be out in the next update, but it has never bubbled up to the top of the priorities. It's only a vocal minority that wants it anyway.

There hasn't been any type of survey to get real votes on this. Sure, the people that want the categories are vocal, but that doesn't mean that the silent users DON'T want it.
Nah, I would wager that with the ever-increasing number of apps available here, that a large majority would love to have a way of organizing them on the menu.

It's one of the reasons I've avoided the PAM up to now. That might change in the near future, we shall see.
I agree with you. That was a quote from one of John Haller's responses in a message about Categories.
I stopped using the PAM long ago because of its lack of categories. I used to use an unofficial fork of PAM buthave pretty much stopped using that for sTab Launcher.
When the Official PAM supports categories I will give it another look.
