Programs won't show on the apps menu like artweaver(a image editing program-http://www.artweaver.de/) when i drag them to the portable apps folder. other programs i tryed was rocket dock which i extracted the exe with universal extractor but that did'nt work either. Is there any way of which i can drag the exe file to the menu?

try ...options, refresh app icons
take care, not all programs will be portable just because you drag their folder to portable apps. They may not run at al or just on the pc you did the original instalation.

I refreshed the app icons and they did not appear. Is there any reason why some don't work?
Also is there not a way to drag and drop the exe file to the menu?
It has a part about adding apps to the menu that are not from this site.
It will work with every exe which is in a subfolder of the PortableApps folder on your drive.

i found the problem with the app, the exe itself wasn't in the root of the folder and so portableapps only searches for exe files on the root of a folder. So i had to move all the files to the root of the folder.
