Hi everyone,
If this isn't actually a bug, I'll end up looking like the newbie I am, and I hasten to add that I searched before posting. My issue is this:
- I rename an app's menu entry
- I hide the app's menu entry (in my case, this was done accidentally)
- I make the entry visible again
- The entry no longer has the custom name I gave it, just the default one generated from the target EXE
Note: this happens with both PAF and non-PAF apps. At no point did I exit and restart the menu.
It's a valid point that if you're hiding an app, you probably don't care about it and you won't care what it's called should you ever decide to un-hide it. But when the app is hidden accidentally, as it was in my case, the name change gets confusing and fixing it is a bit of extra work.
I'm running 2.0b5, on Windows 7 Professional x64.
Jonathan
This bug was mentioned before already, it won't be fixed for the exact reason your mentioned.
I can't seem to find the post though.
P.S. I agree with you, renamed apps shouldn't lose their name after it's hidden.
OK -- thanks for the info. Again, I looked to see if this had been mentioned somewhere but couldn't find anything either. Ah well.
Originally, we did this on purpose so that hidden apps weren't cluttering the listing. But as apps could possibly be accidentally hidden, we're gonna fix it so it will still be remembered in an upcoming beta
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
Thanks, John & Co.!
