Doubtful...

Even though this game has been released as freeware I'm guessing the license would still not permit PA.c to make it portable, since that would be considered a violation of distributing the software in its original form (which I'm assuming is part of the software license used for C&C). All guesswork but a pretty sure bet.

Having said that I suppose somebody could make the launcher which you would download separately.

As an alternative, you could try Warzone 2100.

to extend the above

Though C&C is now freeware it still has somewhat of a restricitve liscesne. the good news is because its old and was ment for a DOS based OS it makes it easier to make a portable launcher. back when i started geting into C&C i found a way that would allow one to transport it over a ZIP drive. note you still needed the disc but hey... now you dont even need that.

Something your could do is

Something your could do is install Dfend Reloaded (PAF on site) and install C&C into that. As it can even handle mounting ISO images you'll be set Smile

Freeware shipped as ISO files

I've just downloaded the 'freeware' version and it consists of two ISO images, so D-Fend Reloaded's ability to mount them seems like a useful feature to me (but I've not tried it yet).

Not just an .iso

The game is not just an .iso in the original version there was an option to install it so that you would not need the cd. This person made a patch(recommended by EA) so you don't need the .iso. Here's the link http://nyerguds.arsaneus-design.com/cnc95upd/cc95p106/ . I don't know how to make the PortableApps exe if i could i would make it.

Heads up

I've successfully installed this into Dfend Reloaded and have it automatically mount the ISO each load. Fairly simple to setup and all within a GUI.

Enjoy Smile
