The "hide desktop icons" option is not persistent.

I keep clearing this option but every time I unplug and re-insert the usb key it returns and my desktop icons dissapear again.

Worse, when enabled if you remove the usb key the desktop icons remain hidden till a reboot or you put the usb key back in and turn the option off again. That's just nasty.

The option should be persistent and if enabled should restore the desktop to the state prior to insertion.
