Menu

Whatever language you menu is in is what will be downloaded. Was your menu in German or English?

To fix it, just download and run the German installer.

Please keep further reports within the topic as this is a beta release, not comments on the stable release.

The menu was in German, the update of thunderbird and firefox was English...
Just 5 seconds ago I startet a new update for thunderbird... again the language was false (english instead of german)

What do u mean by "Please keep further reports within the topic as this is a beta release, not comments on the stable release."?

My English is not perfect^^ I'm using the beta-version (talking about the updater which is only in beta version). This forum is about beta-testing?

Beta thread

What John is saying is this: for Beta releases, please keep bug reports and questions in the Beta Testing thread. This forum is for official releases of the PortableApps.com Platform.

Forum vs Thread

You're posting the the Beta Testing forum, which is for beta testing of everything. Each thing being beta tested gets its own thread, where testers post any issues they have with a given beta. The beta thread for the updater is right here:

Can't Reproduce

I just switched my menu to German and told it to update. As expected, TB updated from TB 3.1.1 English to TB 3.1.2 German. I can't reproduce what you are seeing. Also, how could you start a new update for TB if it's already updated? You can't tell what language it is in until you've done the update, at which point you can't update again.

I will keep my eyes upon it

I will keep my eyes upon it waiting for the next update.

What I did:

1. I used Platform 1.6.1, with German Thunderbird/Firefox
2. downloaded and installed Platform 2.0 Beta 5
3. switched language to German in the Options-Menu
4. started the (new) updater
5. got English Thunderbird/Firefox

You can download the german

You can download the german TB installer from here and install it over your existing (now English) installation to get it german again.
Maybe you had an old version of TB portable which was created following the old specifications (those before the updater existed), not sure if this could cause the issue.
