The 1.1 release was just posted 2 days ago. Our dev needs to package up the new one and thoroughly test it before we throw it out there. X.X.Y are simple updates, but X.Y are more major releases for AssaultCube so something related to the way we portablize it may have changed.
Alright. Thank you.
Because I happen to like this game and was curious to know what is new or has change I went to the AC website to find out. It took a bit of hunting, and I still can't seem to find the official release notes but I thought others might be interested in 1.1.0 Alpha announcement post that highlights some of the changes in the 1.1 version. (Scroll down to the second post).
I eagerly (but patiently) await the PA.c release!
I am offline for 2 weeks and will have a look at it early in september.
As 2 weeks is a very long time, I'll update it. Anything I need to know in terms of what files need moving where, which shouldn't be UPX compressed, etc? Or is it just a matter of installing, copying the files into the portable version and packaging? (And then testing under multiple OSes and account levels and regshotting of course)
I moved the run windowed entry to the main ini (with checks for the old location during install) and am now testing the new version. One thing is that it now has a license in the installer saying:
AssaultCube is FREEWARE, you may freely distribute the AssaultCube installer/archive unmodified on any media. You may re-compress using different archival formats (i.e. zip/tgz/rpm/deb/dmg), any changes beyond that require explicit permission. AssaultCube is distributed WITHOUT WARRANTY, you may use it for any purpose as long as you do not blame us for any damages incurred. This game consists of many different packages with different licenses. The ENTIRE AssaultCube package MAY be redistributed as mentioned above. But if you wish to redistribute/use/modify it in a different way you will need to adhere to the licenses for the packages that you are using. This is where you can find some of these licenses: * docs/package_copyrights.txt * source/README.txt * source/README_CUBEENGINE.txt
but the webpage still says "Open source, available under a zlib-like open source license."
I have it ready. Ill get in touch with them about it before I send you the package. You just need to add the high res icon.
