I've had zsnes ((pre-release 1.5.1) for some time now and while i got it to work the way i wanted it to,i found it to be a bit cumbersome to operate. This new emulator,in my opinion,is far superior to zsnes. It has a smoother frame rate,i can switch between controllers much easier (meaning between the keyboard and a logitech usb playstation style controller) and it has more functions with greater simplicity. So far I've not encountered any issues with this emulator. I've tested it on win xp home sp2 x86 with admin rights & win 7 x64 home premium with admin rights.I'm just a power user and not a program writer or anything but i was very impressed with this emulator. Well Done!

I have tested = bsnes Portable Development Test 1
If no "bsnes.cfg", inside "bsnesPortable\Data\settings", it create the directory below, and a file "bsnes.cfg". P.S. ***UserName*** = your username.
"C:\Users\***UserName***\AppData\Roaming\.bsnes"
"C:\Users\***UserName***\AppData\Roaming\.bsnes\bsnes.cfg"
It's not portable.
After i try to create, an empty "bsnes.cfg" config file, inside "bsnesPortable\Data\settings", then after it's portable.
I also try to copy "C:\Users\***UserName***\AppData\Roaming\.bsnes\bsnes.cfg" file to = "bsnesPortable\Data\settings", then after it's portable.
Other thing , i also try "../Data/roms" for roms directory, but it dont work. Even if i try "Data\roms", it still dont work.
Please verify at your side, ...
..\..\Data\RomsI know not of the others.

Ok, ... i have found the problem, ...
bsnesPortable.ini contain =
[Launch]
ProgramExecutable=bsnes\bsnes.exe
WorkingDirectory=%PAL:DataDir%\settings
[FilesMove]
settings\bsnes.cfg=%PAL:AppDir%\bsnes
It mean that the working directory is set to = %PAL:DataDir%\settings not %PAL:DataDir%
It mean (for the moment) that the default portable working section is = "settings" inside Data.
(For the moment) to be portable, i have to add the "game Roms directory", to "bsnesPortable\Data\settings\Romssection",and inside the file "bsnesPortable\Data\settings\bsnes.cfg" i have to edit "bsnes.cfg" file and change it to path.current.cartridge = "Romssection"
Can you made that working directory is by default
WorkingDirectory=%PAL:DataDir%\
or
WorkingDirectory=%PAL:DataDir%
sorry folks this is after all a first dev test, thanks for the help and fixes, I'll be fixing the launcher and will credit those who gave the fixes too, I've been slightly busy a little bit though.

Are you able to include that version, inside your portable software ?
when I have time, I frequent byuu's forums so I know when there is a new release, please be patient PChat (a program I'm working on) is my goal at this moment to complete a rewrite.
