My Mom has been using TBird portable for some time with great success.
I recently built her a Linux based machine for her use at home and this has limited her use of TBird portable at home (as Portable Apps is Win32 -- and we prefer NOT to use WINE).
Are there any problems with installing TBird (same version number as on Portable Apps, obviously) on the Linux machine and then pointing the profile on that Linux-installed version at the profile folder on the Portable Apps device?
I would (by script) restrict the launching of TBird on Linux to the case where the USB (Portable Apps) stick is already mounted . . .
Any other issues?
Thanks in advance.
I've done similar things with the Firefox profile from portable, running under a local FF install, and it is all good. No reason I can think of why tbird would be any different.
