I'm making Unloker Portable Launch with PortableApps.comLauncher_2.0. I've configured RunAsAdmin=force in the AppInfo\Launcher\UnlockerPortable.ini.
When I click the UnlockerPortable in PortableApps.com Platform, the launcher let me run as admin, but it's not working. Unless I right click the UnlockerPortable and select Run as Admin, it work.
What's wrong? Why RunAsAdmin=force not working?
My system is windows 7, and run PortableApps.com Platform as normal (not run as admin).
[10:06] #gluxon# What do you mean by, it's not working?
[10:10] #domecc# If I right click the UnlockerPortable and select Run as Admin, it work. If I just click the UnlockerPortable and select UAC's Yes, it's not working.
[10:20] #gluxon# That's because the admin privs aren't passed when you use UAC's Yes button.
[10:20] #gluxon# You give admin privs to UnlockerPortable.exe
[10:21] #gluxon# However, when you right click, run as admin, you give UnlockerPortable.exe and all sub-processes admin privs.
[10:21] #sar3th# then it's a bug in PAL
[10:21] #sar3th# cos it does not pass its elevated permissions on to the subprocess
[10:22] #gluxon# No, it's a bug in just plain Windows.
[10:22] #gluxon# Actually, it could be a bug in NSIS.
[10:22] #domecc# En. Thanks very much!
That definitely should not be the case; with apps like Speccy it has worked fine. I'm not sure what the issue is in this case. I think it's most likely to be some issue with some other option in the configuration; could you please post all of your launcher configuration?
If you just want Unlocker Portable, wraithdu made a launcher for it, last updated at the start of this year. It will probably do what you want.
