Hello World - I'm a Noob

Hey guys,

I've been using Portable Firefox (PFF v 1.5.0.4) for a few months without a Local FF installed. Now, as we all know, Google launched its Google_Browser_Sync.xpi (GBSx) a few weeks ago. I wanted to experiment with it and decided to install a LOCAL copy of FF to test if my bookmarks would synchronize my PFF v 1.5.0.4. settings with the LOCAL install of FF v 1.5.0.4.

The installation of the local FF went OK. And it gave me the default GUI (If that is what you would call it on a browser) without any extensions. Now when I tried to download the GBSx, nothing would happen. This is not my specific concern as it is a Google issue.

Moving on, I installed, the newest version of PFF now known as Mozilla Firefox - Portable Edition (Firefox Portable to friends-FFPF). Again, I installed it on a different directory other than my current PFF installation directory. The installation went OK. And again, there were no extensions.

Now, here is what I want to do:

1. I want to transfer my PFF extensions and plugins to FFPF.
2. I want to ask if it is possible to extract the extensions from PFF.
3. Do I merely copy the directories over the other? The directories seem very different.

Thanks, that is all. Smile

See Here

See Here:
https://portableapps.com/support/firefox_portable#upgrading

That gives you the details on what to copy when upgrading from PFF 1.5.0.4 to FFP 1.5.0.5.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

wow

That's personalized service for me. It's 2:00 am here - I've been trying to work around this problem since 10:00 pm. After going back to this post, I read your reply.

Funny thing is I've read that already - 4 hours ago it didn't work. I tried using FEBE.xpi, Mozbackup, and I've been trying for hours.

Now, when I read the stuff on the link (again), it worked somehow. Credit it to personalized service by Mr. Haller.

Thank you so much John - I hope you'll be CEO or President of something big in the future!!! If its worth anything, I'll tell all of my buddies - heck even my grandma to get this great app!!! Cheers!!!

I better get some shut eye.

with Mac also?

Will this also work if your local Firefox application is on a Mac?
