When using the new App Updater, some of the apps are not updating correctly. This morning an update was available for Thunderbird and PNotes. Thunderbird updated correctly, but PNotes did not.
When I try to update it, it tries download it a couple of time and then puts up the error "The downloaded copy of PNotes Portable is not valid and can not be installed. This could be due to an incomplete download or other network issue. Please try running the updater again when complete."
I've tried running several times and it never updates. The same thing happened the other day with "Database Browser Portable".
Both of these occurred in a batch of other updates that were successful.
I'm running Windows 7 / x64
The database was set to download the wrong PNotes file, so it didn't match what the updater was expecting. I've fixed it and it will update now.
The Database Browser issue was due to the publisher making a last-minute change to the app after we'd verified it. So we had to rescan it for viruses and add the new verification code to the database. That's why it started working about an hour later.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
