I am unable to setup my e-mail accounts using Thunderbird Portable Edition

The following error happens:

on creating a new email account for the first time using thunderbird portable.

My system specs are:

Linux Notebook using Oracle VM Virtualbox 3.2.4 r62467 on Windows XP Pro.
