Just realized that you've completely overlooked this most excellent portable app. I've been using it daily, on my USB drive, ever since I've owned it -- and well before I discovered PFF/FFP. Works great! It even allows you to run PuTTY in a window!
- WinSCP is an open source freeware SFTP client for Windows using SSH. Legacy SCP protocol is also supported. Its main function is safe copying of files between a local and a remote computer.
Download it here:

I use the "Standalone application" -- Norton Commander style...
To make it TOTALLY portable:

Simple pimple!
Oh, BTW, wink, wink, nudge, nudge...
Learn how to distribute pre-configured version of WinSCP:

I use this all the time, especially with SourceForge and Liberta-Project.com.
Never knew it was portable though...

I don't have an attitude problem. You have a perception problem.
"If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate."

Keep in mind that I haven’t gone through this thing with a fine toothed comb yet, so it may still use the registry somewhere.
This is a Huge problem for me as I mostly use this at school for class, on unsecured computers. Could you imagin someone getting shell access from a password in the reg???
