Hi,
I am running Toucan 3.0.3 on WinXP, SP3. I have administrator rights on the box.
This is something that used to work fine under Toucan 2.x, but hangs "most of the times" now.
I backup the same files to 2 different locations, both on USB drives.
backup type: 7z, complete
source data:
- folder on the C: drive
- folder on the F: drive (USB drive)
destination 1:
- another folder on the F: drive (USB drive)
destination 2:
- folder on the H: drive (USB drive)
The first set of files (the stuff from the C: drive) are always backed up correctly, but Toucan usually hangs building the list of files from the second location.
If I kill Toucan, the incomplete backup is not corrupted, and I can extract the files from the archive without problems.
Even if the first backup (to drive F:) works, the second backup is almost bound to fail.
I initially thought the issue is the beta version of 7za.exe that comes with Toucan 3.x, and I kept replacing it with the latest one. Sometimes, not always, the first try after I update the 7za.exe is successful, but not always. I just updated to the latest, non-beta, release of 7z, and Toucan hanged on the first try.
for the report on this, I can honestly say I haven't seen anything like this happen before. Do you have this in four separate jobs?
I have the same problem. Running 2 backups from scheduler, second runs OK, first hangs a windows witj the nessage that 7-zip standalone concole stopped working. In log i can see "Creating file list, this may take some time "
for your bug report, can you tell me what version you are using? The newest pre-release may well fix this issue.
