Can you please edit your post and add a lot more description of the issue? What shows it as unupdated? How do you know that it is? What do you mean by "is"? The more info you provide, the more we can answer the question!

I apologize Solanus for my bluntness but I have skype 5.0.152 and yet there is meant to be an update.
If it wasn't so serious I'd be in trouble because I don't want to have to download it all again if there are only a few files that need replacing.

App updates are complete; it's difficult for us to predict well how an app update could be minimised to only what's needed, and it's currently unneeded complexity. Just get the latest version and install it over it - the Updater in the Platform which I presume you are referring to does this.
