Application: Mumble
Category: Internet
Discription: Mumble is a voice chat application for groups. While it can be used for any kind of activity, it is primarily intended for gaming. It can be compared to programs like Ventrilo or TeamSpeak. People tend to simplify things, so when they talk about Mumble they either talk about "Mumble" the client application or about "Mumble & Murmur" the whole voice chat application suite.

I'd appreciate if you could clean up the formatting on this post, please. Maybe look at these.
I'll look into this, I'm using mumble and would like to use a portable version.

Tested briefly on XP sp3 32bit, admin rights.
Registry entries left behind (why did you even set Registry=false :?) :
HKCU\Software\Mumble
- and it's sub-keysHKCU\Software\Trolltech
- and it's sub-keys (this one requires a bit of a different handling, so read up the PAL manual; Qt section, to be exact)More files need handling than just %appdata%. Mumble automatically saves some backups of it's certificates, or at least something like that.
"My Documents\MumbleAutomaticCertificateBackup.p12"
- file was created during my brief test.My posts are old and likely no longer relevant.
I have mumble installed on my pc, so, regshot did not do much for me. I will have that fixed in the next release.
Thanks for the info
EDIT: I will work one getting HKCU\Software\Mumble and My Documents\MumbleAutomaticCertificateBackup.p12 backed up tonight, Tomorrow I will deal with HKCU\Software\Trolltech.

Dev Test 2:
Found out that mumble was made to be portable. If you add mumble.ini to the same directory as mumble.exe it will use mumble.ini for settings.

Add to launcher's .ini to handle that Certificate Backup:
MumbleAutomaticCertificateBackup.p12="%USERPROFILE%\My Documents\"
This Mumble Portable works fine for my Windows XP, but in Windows 7 mumble just closes without showing anything.
I like Mumble and am hoping for an official Mumble Portable App
Sweet thanks for the info. I will see what I can do for Win7.

Hi,
i testet it and on my win7x64 it runs perfect...
The programm starting takes some seconds, but i think that the reason is my slow usb stick.
Greetings st0rm
Update: if MumbleAutomaticCertificateBackup.p12 is found it backs it up. Let me know if you find any thing else that needs to be done or fixed.

For some reason I can't get this to run on Windows 7 x64 Ultimate. I was going to post this for release but it simply won't start. When I run the launcher, the launcher starts and then exits. If I run mumble.exe directly, it will run. No errors are shown. Thoughts? I've removed this from the apps ready for release thread. Once we resolve this, we'll get this out.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
I took the 1.2.2 test version of portable launcher and extracted the 1.2.3. files into the app folder. Works perfectly.
But if i install mumble 1.2.3, as client, i can't get it working - get a runtime error.
However, because of the portable launcher, it works just fine now.
Hi, splash panel shows and that's it - no process visible in Task Manager etc.
regards
.
Will this effort (by you) to provide a portable Mumble continue at some point?
Mumble 1.2.3 has been released over a year ago.
Mumble 1.2.4 is going into beta/release candidates soon(ish).
Im use files from 2.3 or 2.4rc
Windows 8 x64
I'm run application, it's show splashscreen and close.
Pardon me for asking this, but is work on this app still underway?
The only reason I'm asking is that one online game I play utilizes this program & I'd like to get a portable version of it... HOWEVER, since I'm running on Windows 7 Home, 64-bit... I might run into the same issues that a few other people have noted.
I just want to see if it's worth my time to add this to my beta collection.

Hello,
dose come Mumble Portable as newsest Version in Portableappsformat?
If not, its easy to build semslefe. (But not Portableappsformat)
Download installer.
Download Universal Extracotr.
Unpack Mumble with Universal Extractor.
Put all DLLs form other subfolders in the one Folder with the exe.
Put in an file called mumble.ini without something in.
Put folder where you want and start it.
Now it is Portable and be happy
Is this even still being worked on? Would be nice...
