I am searching for an application to work as virtual CD/DVD drive similar to DAEMON Tools Lite.
Can anyone help?

not possible really, most virtual cd drive emulators require drivers and to install a driver one needs administrative access, so if you are on a computer that doesn't have administrative permissions then you can't use the app at all.

I've never tried it but I heard about WinCDEmu, which is available as a portable version here : http://wincdemu.sysprogs.org/portable/
They call it "portable" because WinCDEmu installs the driver when it starts and uninstalls it when it leaves (or when you click on the "Uninstall driver" button).
In this case, "portable" does not mean you will be able to run it anywhere. Indeed, as Zach explained, you need administrator rights to mount an ISO (because of driver).
Microsoft also provides Virtual CDRom Control Panel here : http://www.softpedia.com/get/CD-DVD-Tools/Virtual-CD-DVD-Rom/Virtual-CDR...
which is not avalible to those using libraries, school and some work/government computer. in such it is NOT portable.
Also microsoft doesnt put anything up on softpedia.
Please do not think everyone wants to use portable apps in libraries or school. I, for what it's worst, use portable applications on my computers with admin rights on each of them.
This kind of software (WinCDEmu, VirtualBox, TrueCrypt, ...) are portable, to my point of view, as soon as I can take them from one PC to another, keeping settings during this operation.
As for Microsoft/Softpedia, you're right. Feel free to provide a better link. I was just pointing to any information regarding Virtual CDRom Control Panel.
Edit : I was already mentioning that admin rights were required. So what's the point of this kind of rude answers ?
Libraies and schools are where portable apps are most likely used. Portable apps are also most likely used on computers that are not owned by the person who has the portable applications on the portable media whatever it may be (USB flash, USB HDD, ZIP, Floppy, CD/DVD or other).
You cant take the CD emulators to another computer but if you do not have administrative rights it wont work. Just like in XP and up you cant use the IrfranRecorder as it requires administrative Burn Rights. So technicly the CDburning software hosted here is no longer truely portable.
As for the Microsoft portion i would be satisfied with a link to a microsoft page describing this Virtual CDrom Control Panel.
As i stated i wasnt trying to be rude but was clarifying for the people who come to this read this board and may misinterprit your information (not your doing) and then complain when it doesnt work in certian environments.
Portable version. It`s work
http://wincdemu.sysprogs.org/portable/
It's already available in PortableApps.com Format so you can install, backup, and update with ease: https://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/wincdemu-portable
(this is a 6 year old topic)
