Problem in pinning Firefox to Windows 7 Taskbar

I tried both Firefox stable version and beta version but both failed. My problem is when I pin the 'Firefoxportable' it starts with the default firefox profile and an user directory in my "E:\Users\Arnob\AppData\Roaming' is created. Whereas, the software should use the profile in 'Installation directory (where I installed the portable firefox)\App\Data".

My steps are as follows:
1) Instal the portable Firefox
2) Start it and right click to pin
3) Now I install some add-ons and close firefox but when I re-click the firefox(pinned shortcut),,,, the Firefox.exe with the default profile is launched.

Different Apps

Firefox.exe and FirefoxPortable.exe are different apps as far as Windows is concerned. If you pin while running, you're pinning Firefox.exe and Windows will launch that directly (launching the local version of Firefox). You can manually pin FirefoxPortable.exe but while Firefox is running, it will show up as a 2nd taskbar icon (since it is a different program). There is no reliable workaround for this whole issue as Windows 7 is not designed to understand multi-EXE software. You can alter the appid of Firefox and the launcher to match which means that when you pin FFP, Firefox will use its icon when launching.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Enable Quick-launch toolbar

I've avoided the "pinning" thing by enabling the Quick-launch toolbar in Vista and 7 so it works like XP. I did this because I had difficulty distinguishing the pinned inactive apps from the active ones.

Of course, it requires a registry entry, which makes this solution non-portable, but wanting to pin a program to the taskbar is essentially non-portable, too.

Simply pin Firefox to the

Simply pin Firefox to the taskbar, shift+click the pinned icon, properties, and change the shortcut to the FirefoxPortable path.
