The latest version (v2.3.7) of Warzone 2100 has been released but the portable version is still at v2.3.5. When will the portable version be updated to the latest version?
Who is responsible for updating the portable version of an application? Can anyone help with updating portable apps or can it only be done by assigned individuals or teams?
I'd be interested in getting involved in some way, but I can't commit a lot of time to helping out. However, I willing to offer a little help wherever I can.
There is no definitive answer to this. I know it's probably not what you want to hear but the most likely response is: "It'll be done when it's ready". Little comfort I know.
I think the biggest issue right now is that there are many changes going on both publicly and behind the scenes, but these changes will make future PortableApps efforts easier so we might hope to see faster turn-around times.
In fairness, 2.3.7 isn't all that old, although 2.3.6 was out for a while.
If you're truly interested in helping out then I would say that the best thing you can do is to familiarize yourself with the PortableApps specifications and what is involved in "portabilizing" apps. You may then become very useful to the development team.
I was planning on catching up on this earlier today (Wednesday) but uploads, releasing and mirroring have been down sitewide on SourceForge all day (which is also affecting the Juice Portable and Firefox Portable 4 Beta 10 releases). We can't release anything new on SourceForge until this issue is repaired.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
