Password Protection

Hi,

Seeing as I would want to use Firefox Portable, I would also like to protect the saved passwords in case the flash drive gets lost/stolen.
Is it possible to password protect the PortableApps platform? specifically the PortableApps folder?

Thanks,

Rocky

Master password

Just for the passwords, there's the master password. If you care about more than that, then it gets very tricky.

Another topic discussed

Another topic discussed often... Search has the answers (mostly: not possible apart from hardware encryption).

For my part, I use a truecrypt container for sensitive personal data, containing another small platform installation with Firefox, Thunderbird and Filezilla. As long at I keep my truecrypt password safe, no one can access my stored passwords. During runtime (when I have mounted the container), there might be the possibility for someone to hack in via backdoor programs though.

But that is only partly portable. You need admin rights to start truecrypt on a host PC, or in my case on all PCs at school I administer I have truecrypt installed as part of our Data Protection Directive, so no problem here.
