I've been looking at SpywareBlaster as it sounded interesting, but now I'm wondering if it can (or should) be done.
SpywareBlaster is an entirely passive protection solution, running the executable only updates its definitions and patches security problems in your browsers. There is no actual executable running that protects anything like a standard AV, it just runs, modifies your browsers, then closes until the next time you run it.
The fact that it runs purely to modify files within your browsers means a) it would change browsers that are locally installed on every PC you run it on unless the setup can be modified significantly to not touch these by default and b) it may not even detect our portable browsers as they are not "installed" in the traditional sense.
If someone can verify that it detects our portable browsers without significant changes then I may take a longer look at it, but otherwise I will be leaving it alone as I don't think it is an appropriate candidate for portability.
Even if it does work for portable browsers users might just be better off running it once a week from home, as most changes it would make to your portable browsers would still be active within the browser no matter where you used it.
that SpywareBlaster does NOT detect portable browsers. I've been using it for a very long time. While I do like this program, and use it myself, I would think that it would not be a good candidate for a portable app (unless of course, the author at javacoolsoftware modifies the program to detect portable browsers, and deselect installed ones).

may be freeware but with a restrictive liscense. wont know until one looks deeper into it. links would be nice
I'm wondering the same, is it possible to make a portable version of SpywareBlaster?
As stated above, a link to the official site would be very handy. Any information you can provide regarding the licence would also assist us.

Thanks for the verification. Knowing that I definitely won't be looking at it any further than I already have.
