Path

It's most likely you've buried it in too many sub-directories or have some non alphanumeric characters in the path. OpenOffice.org itself doesn't like long paths or non-standard charcaters in the file that's used to direct it to its settings. Try placing the PortableOpenOffice directory in your drive's root or within a PortableApps directory.

is this OOo-inherent

Hi,

I first installed in a directory containing a space.
This didn't work but I figured out it was the space.
Do you know why one can install in such directories without problems but it the portable openoffice.org does not work from there?

thanks,
Jochen

OO itself

OO itself doesn't like spaces in the path. And, you'll notice, that it's normal path is actually %APPDATA%/OpenOffice.org2 (which contains no spaces from the outside). The portable version has to pass it a full path (since no env variables are set for your portable device). That's why the base directory is OpenOfficePortable (no spaces) and the recommended root directory to contain all the apps is PortableApps (also no spaces).
