Portable chat bots are not very useful IMO
Too many lonely hearts in the real world
Too many bridges you can burn
Too many tables you can't turn
Don't wanna live my life in the real world
they can be. this is supposed to be a fun app anyway, its really neat if you think about it. my chat bot controls my entire mainframe in my room and controls everything on my floor of the house.
Have you used Verbot/
I scanned their web pages and I'm having difficulty
figuring some things out. (Like how to download ! )
Is it AI? Is it really dumb or might it come cloe to passing

yes i have used verbot, its an AI. you can download them off the website. its so so simple. and you get to make your own chatbots its so simple that its almost impossible to believe it exists. its worth making into an app. look on this website. here are the differnt downloads such as the player and the editor. http://www.verbots.com/downloads.php
Verbot seems to be a Eliza clone with fairly powerful scripting and customizing.
It uses MS Agents though so I think it would be difficult to portabalize.
It does text to speech, speech recognition, etc.
Thank the gods that Clippy is not included.
well we could still try. make it tie in to the ms agents portably.
Besides what I am sure will be issues with MS Agents,
Verbot uses .net which is (at present) a non-starter
here.
It is fun though.
