This morning I went to use PA.com's Revo Uninstaller for the 1st time.
avast 6.0.1000 popped up informing me that this App was a potentially dangerous App and prompted me if I wanted to run it in the Sandbox. I figured the App was likely good since I've been using PA.com Apps without issue for a while. But, out of curiosity, I let it run in the avast Sandbox just to see how that worked.
I brought this up at the avast Forum. At least one other guy there at the avast Forum who also uses PA.com Apps said he too had been getting various PA.com Apps being flagged as potentially dangerous by the avast 6.0.1000 Sandbox. In his case it wasn't Revo Uninstaller, but other Apps. So, probably it's NOT an issue of any particular of the PA.com Apps, but rather the PA.com format itself that the avast 6.0.1000 Sandbox is flagging here and there.
So, PortableApps.com might want to get with avast to see what can be done to eliminate the avast 6.0.1000 Sandbox Alerts. I don't know if it's something that would have to be changed on PA.com's end or on avast's end ... or on both sides.
to the avast support
I did this few times when I had problems and was contacted soon and trobles solved one way or other.
At present I also have avst 6 running, it did cure some other problems 5.1.x had.
just file a trouble ticket and you will be helped even when running just free version.

Something I added to my reply in the avast forum:
Essentially it is more of a precautionary thing, as opposed to an actual problem.
It is also not an issue with just PA format apps...for instance the standard GIMP will be autosandboxed. Just depends on the app and what the various checks that avast does say about it.
Funny, I had a feeling that the autoosandbox would makes it's way to the PA forums

Heyyy, Other Guy, I mean, Scott ...
The reason I thought it'd be a good idea to give PA.com a heads up on this issue is because I figured there really was no 100% guarantee that it was an issue on avast's end causing the avast Sandbox Alert. After all, by now you and I have both confirmed that it is more than one PA.com App triggering the Sandbox Alerts.
In addition to my original PA.com Revo Uninstaller triggering an avast Sandbox Alert, I have now confirmed that the following three also trigger an Alert on MY computer anyway:
GIMP
IrfanView
PNotes
The PA.com Apps that came up fine were:
Audacity
ConvertAll
Firefox
It's conceivable that there's a certain something that avast is detecting in some of the PA.com Apps so as to trigger the avast Sandbox ... something that could be changed by PA.com. By the same token, the problem could be totally on avast's end. I just don't know. That's why I figured avast and PA.com could make contact and figure out where the problem is so that we don't get slapped with a Sandbox Alert every time we bring these PA.com Apps up from now on.
I run Vipre and it hates PNOtes because of a file that is blankinit
