Iron Portable 10.0.650.0 Revision 2 Development Test 1

Application: Iron
Category: Internet
Description: SRWare Iron: the browser of the future - it's like Google Chrome, only without any privacy or security problems.

Download Iron Portable 10.0.650.0 Revision 2 Development Test 1 [18.1 MB download / 67.1 MB installed]

(MD5: e34c07a2c5d531970bf547c3e37a09d3)

What needs testing:
* Confirm that, when Iron Portable is started from the Platform, it uses the Platform language
* Confirm that, when Iron's language is switched from within Iron and Iron Portable (not just Iron; don't use the provided Restart button, actually shut down and re-open Iron Portable) is restarted, the Iron language changes

What needs to be discussed:
* Currently, when Iron Portable is started from the Platform, it only uses the Platform language until it's restarted, at which point it will return to its old language setting. When using the Platform language, should that language choice be persistent?
* When Iron's language is changed using Iron's interface, a Restart button is provided. Currently, thanks to the way the launcher works, that button will just restart Iron, not apply the language switch. Should I attempt to make that button work as expected, or is the current method (just close and re-open Iron Portable) acceptable?

Release Notes:

The only change in this revision is an attempt to fix a series of inter-related language-switching issues. Other than that, this version of Iron Portable is identical to the official release of 10.0.650.0.

You can still help

There are some non-Platform tests I need feedback on, especially:
* Does changing the Iron language (using the Iron interface) and restarting Iron Portable actually change the language?
* Should the provided Restart button change the language (I should mention, this will be difficult for me to program at best, an impossible nightmare at worst) or is manually restarting Iron Portable sufficient?

Thanks

Thanks for pointing that out. I knew 10.0.650.1 was coming out, but didn't see the actual update.

@John: it looks like nobody's had any trouble with this DT. Can I use this as the base for 10.0.650.1, or should I use the official release of 10.0.650.0 as the base instead?

Sure

Package it up and we'll put it out. Just make sure you incorporated any fixes I put in from the last PA.c release of it.

Thanks

I'll get 10.0.650.1 built ASAP.

What fixes are you referring to, though? I thought this DT already had any changes you put in 10.0.650.0 official?
