I launched Maxthon without internet and tried to open a couple of pages. Then I had a look at about:config and closed it. I found these folders:
%APPDATA%\Maxthon3 %APPDATA%\Maxthon3\Temp %APPDATA%\Maxthon3\Temp\Crash
I tried to reproduce this but I couldnt. Strange.
I am on Win XPSP3 german limited account.
If you can reproduce it, perhaps we can track it down. I haven't seen this myself.

I have been able to reproduce this: its the feed reader (beta).
As soon as you click on the feed reader icon, it creates said folders.

Ah ok, cool. This will require updating the MaxthonPortable.ini launcher file to:
I've passed this along to the Maxthon developers and it should be addressed in the next release. And please confirm this works for you as well

No need to save it I think as it's empty.

it has a crash reports folder in it so we might have to monitor it or ask the Maxthon guys what possibly could be in that folder.

Hello John,;)
The solution you propose is perfectly efficient, but a problem where a version of Maxthon 3.0 is installed on the host PC!
Could we not only delete the contents of the file Crash?
Note: We have traced the problem to developers

DirectoriesMove takes care of local stuff. It won't clash with a local installation.

Sorry Chris, but if I mention it is that I have tested it on my PC or portable version with this command deleted all data from the fixed version on my PC.
The fixed version included all data from the user and others in the% AppData% \ Maxthon3, so the portable version erases the entire contents.

If that directory already exists, it is moved by the PA.c Launcher on start to another location. Then Maxthon Portable starts and the directory may or may not be created. Then on exit of Maxthon Portable when all maxthon.exe processes are fully shutdown, it should be moved back.

Thank you John, I finally understand the subtleties of this command!
For me it's perfect, even with a version of Maxthon 3.0 on the host PC.
Thank you for your help John
