Suggestion - online app listing

I recently pulled my USB at a bad time and it needed a reformat to function, and I went to the PortableAppsBackup folder and irritatingly hadn't backed it up in over a year.

As a solution to this problem, I was wondering if there was a way to track the downloads of a logged-in user, so if all data was lost there was a way to list all the apps that the user had downloaded through this site? I was also thinking if it would be possible to download all those apps in a .zip, that would be a whole new level of usefulness. However I appreciate that building a different zip file for each time would be difficult, but having a list of every app you had downloaded would be very useful indeed (:

Thanks, Billy

Something Like That

Something like that is planned for platform users in a release beyond 2.0. Smile

Can be downloaded anonymously

One problem with this suggestion is that the applications can be downloaded without being logged into the site.

[Edit] John posted before me. I'll defer to his wisdom.

i had that thought too, it

i had that thought too, it would only really work if the user was logged on while browsing/downloading

The problem with that is that

The problem with that is that it would be very difficult to track downloads (to the user level) when all that this site does is provide links to the apps which are hosted elsewhere. If all the apps were hosted here it would be easy enough to implement, but the additional hosting costs for John make that idea not worth contemplating.

All I can recommend is to backup more often. I backup one of my 3 drives on a weekly basis at work, another on a monthly basis at home and the 3rd I couldn't care less if I lost everything off it, so I don't back it up.

Just go through the app list, and download everything that you know you used. If you don't remember it, it mustn't have been that important.
