NSIS Error: integrity check failed

The LibreOffice installer doesn't run at all on my system after several times downloading it. Message: "Installer integrity check has failed. Common causes include incomplete download and damaged media."

Other downloads from PortableApps work just fine.

So what's the problem, and how can I solve it?

Use another mirror

Try downloading from another mirror. You can find the list of mirrors here.

Do not choose the first mirror on the list of "best mirrors" for your location, because it is probably the one giving you trouble.

Background note: Unlike most PortableApps open source downloads (hosted on SourceForge), LibreOffice Portable downloads are hosted on the Document Foundation's mirrors.

Wrong version

The installer checks to see if the downloaded file is the right thing (complete, intact, original no viruses, etc) by checking the MD5 and comparing that to the MS5 that it knows.

Unfortunately, the installer knows about LibreOffice 3.3.0 and the download gets you LibreOffice 3.3.1, which calculates to a different MS5.

This issue will happen between the time when a base application updates and a new PortableApps version is released.

I am a bit lost

I don't quite understand what you mean. LibreOffice Portable is not an online installer. The download can't get you the version 3.3.1, as it doesn't exist as paf.exe file. The only existing one is still 3.3.0.

1. Download to a different

1. Download to a different mirror.
2. Download it to another drive i.e. different from the place you tried downloading before.
3. Report back and let us know how it went Smile

The PortableApps installer is

The PortableApps installer is 3.3.0, but LibreOffice itself is at 3.3.2. Is there an alternate location for a 3.3.2 portable installer? The one downloaded seconds ago from here still fails the same way.

Or I suppose I could just wait -- but the portable installers seem to be falling behind the current versions.

Building

It's building and mirroring out to TDF's mirrors (not ours). We work with The Document Foundation on this one as it's the official portable version, so we made some changes to 3.3.2 to add in all supported LO languages. We have two installers for this one with our current language set (400MB installed) and one with all languages (570MB). I also custom coded an optional bit to remove the dictionaries, templates, etc from the packages for languages other than your selected one that saves 160MB and 200MB respectively.

We just finalized how it works with TDF about 10 minutes ago and the final builds are being built and posted now.

We generally get releases out within 24 hours. And you can always monitor them here: https://portableapps.com/node/19705
