reply with quote button

Does anyone else think the forums should have a "reply with quote" button?

It would be easier than typing in the HTML code. It would also be useful to people who don't know HTML, and don't bother to click on the "More information about formatting options" button to find out.

Mostly Unnecessary

Quoting is important in forums that have no nesting so you can see what someone is replying to. Our forum has nesting, so the comment you are replying to is obvious visually. Thus quoting would be redundant in most cases. The exception is when you are quoting something other than what you are replying to, which wouldn't benefit from a Quote Reply button.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

First of all, you should be

First of all, you should be bothering to click on the "More information and formation options". The "don't bother" attitude just shows laziness and lack of respect.

Second, quoting isn't required as much on comment threaded forums since readers are able to easily see what's being replied to what, which solves the problem better than quoting does. If a Quote button is added, there will be misuse.

[Edit: John beat me to it. ]

I am bothering to use it. I was referring to other people.

This is on of my most used addons...with options for different forums, including this one (xhtmlxtra option)

You can also add your own fields, for example:

This was made using the custom option:

John, is there an html option to prevent any parsing of code? (some other forums have a [noparse] option etc...would make posting the above easier, without having to use the html code for the "
