Editing of PDF documents

Since the version 3.3 of LibreOffice Portable Draw it's now possible to import and modify PDF documents. This is possible because of the already contained PDF Import extension (look at Tools -> Extension Manager). In older versions this extension had to be installed.

After I've imported a PDF file, I had to find that some symbols of the original document were not imported correctly. For example, arrows and check boxes were replaced by strange characters. Probably the above-mentioned extension is responsible for this error. Or knows someone a solution for this problem?

I don't think this has anything to do with the portable version

This sounds like a problem with LibreOffice itself, not the Portable version. Your best bet is to go to the LibreOffice forums and also check their buglists.

I see it exactly like you

I also assume, that this is a problem of LibreOffice itself. I have searched several websites of LibreOffice after this problem. But I was not able to find specific indications. That's why I was hoping that someone here in the forum might know this problem and has a solution. But surely you have right to go to the LibreOffice forums.

By the way I was on your homepage and was surprised by the really nice Portable Apps Skins.

Thanks

I'm going to update the PAM Theme Builder once the 2.0 version of the Platform is finalized.

Editing PDFs

As a general rule, editing a PDF is a last resort. You should always, always keep the source files and simply recreate the PDF from that when you need to make changes (using a tool like LibreOffice Portable to generate the PDF). Editing already-created PDFs will always be less-desirable and often have quirky issues.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

quirky issues with editing already-created PDFs

To avoid such quirky issues, it is probably required, programs as Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended to use.
