2.0 preview party next friday??

Assuming that
1 the 2.0 preview launches in the next few days
2 John decides to make some noise when the 2.0 preview does launch

What do Y'all think about having a party on Friday to celebrate the launch??

(or should the party wait until 2.0 goes GOLD?)

Wait, definitely

It's a really bad idea to plan a party based on the release of the platform.
I remember my last "Hooray I won the Lottery!" party that I planned before the drawing occurred. It was not a fun party.

I agree

I agree that it's a bad idea to plan a party.

Judging by the amount of times the release is on then off there is a very good chance the sausage rolls might go off.

The valve time is a confirmed thing. The "any other day" is just a cheap shot.

I've spoken with him on IRC and IIRC he doesn't like Friday releases.

A party is a good idea, though.

Leaving aside the grumbling kvetching about the release dates... blah blah, you aren't saying anything new...

I think we should START planning a party once 2.0 final is released.
Since we have users all over the world, we could set up Meetups, and maybe even some videoconferencing or Skype to tie them together. It would be a lot of work to arrange, but it could be fun.
