QBittorrent Portable 2.7.3 rev 2 not saving settings on windows 7

So after some more testing, I found that qBittorrent isn't saving any settings on Windows 7 x64. uTorrent is working fine without administrator rights.

Is there any reason for this? Something I'm missing? I really don't want to re-add every torrent I get from VODO or ClearBits at QBP start up.

SOLUTION:
My external drive's permissions were not set to full access for everyone.

QBP needs Admin Rights...

So I tried QBP on my friend's computer, and with Administrative rights, the settings save. Is there any reason uTorrent Portable works without Admin Rights and QBP does not?

Anyone else experience this?

Works For Me

qBittorrent works just fine for me without UAC prompts for admin rights on Windows 7. Please verify that you're not experiencing the NTFS permissions issue with your external device.

That worked!

Thanks!

My next question: why didn't I experience this problem on XP terminals at work?

NTFS Permissions

Vista/7 treat NTFS permissions differently than XP. So external drives from one computer (XP/Vista/7) don't have the right permissions by default when moved to another Vista/7 computer. The solution is to manually set Everyone to full permissions. It's most definitely a bug as there is no security associated with it and you can set this on any Windows computer you plug into.
