Skype Open-Source Doomed?

Now that Microsoft has bought Skype, does that mean soon it will no longer be able to be made portable legally?

A couple of things...

1. It isn't/wasn't open source anyway.

2. It is made portable by using an online installer, so it pulls the installer and redirects the install to the Portable folder.

This is done when the licensing doesn't allow redistribution. All PA are doing are providing a launcher.

So *maybe* this whole MS/Skype thing may not kill it...

time will tell

Nobody knows that just yet. It might be ok going forward or it might be getting trickier as they plan to better integrate it with Outlook.
