Urban Terror Portable 4.11 Development Test 1

Application: Urban Terror
Category: Games
Licence: Open Source
Description: Urban Terror™ is a free multiplayer first person shooter developed by FrozenSand. Urban Terror can be described as a Hollywood tactical shooter; somewhat realism based, but the motto is "fun over realism". This results in a unique, enjoyable and addictive game.

This version of Urban Terror utilizes 'ioUrbanTerror', which was developed by woekele and is also open source, to run the game and, unlike pre-Version 4.0 releases, does not require a Quake 3 Arena installation.

Development Test 1

It has recently been brought to my attention that a PortableApps Member, 'LOGAN-portable' created a number of PortableApps games launchers in 2008 see - http://members.home.nl/albartus/portable/ for full details.

These launchers may well still be useable, although they fall short of current PA.c standards and do require significant user editing if used with separate game downloads. However, I have double-checked my findings on portability against the original Urban Terror Launcher and wish to fully acknowledge that work - having confirmed that our findings agree.

If LOGAN-portable is still an active PortableApps member and wishes to take on continuing maintenance of this release, I would be happy to 'hand back'. Meanwhile, Enjoy!

LOGAN-portable's work on game launchers has also inspired me to take a look at the current releases of some further games which are not currently available in current PA.c Format, and have never been posted for Development Testing, starting with Tremulous, which is ready to go.
