RedNotebook

The features list says "spell checker" but the notes on the RedNotebook's own web site say this is only available for the Unix version. Is there a spelling checker for the Windows/PA.c version?

I note that 1.1.6 is now out, by the way.

Regards

Nick

Sorry

If the windows version does not support a spell checker then the Portable version does not. As for the updated version it is in queue I have sent it to John

Feature list

If that's the case, it would be worth removing spell checker from the features list, to save confusion.

Done

I did it when I saw this topic. The features list was copied from the website which made no mention of the fact that spell check was linux-only when the portable app homepage was created.

Sanity check

You might want to double-check that I'm correct, John. I did go looking for a spelling checker addon for the Windows version but didn't find anything on the site itself or in the associated forums.

1.1.5

I upgraded RedNotebook (via the "Check For Updates" function) this morning.

It worked OK, but Help -> About shows it as 1.1.5 rather than 1.1.6

RedNotebook Issue

It's a RedNotebook issue. It is 1.1.6 but it will show as 1.1.5 in Help About. The local install is similarly affected.

From the help file

Spellcheck

RedNotebook supports spellchecking your entries if you have python-gtkspell installed (Only available on Linux). To highlight all misspelled words in your entries, select the corresponding option in the preferences window.

Since gtkspell 2.0.15, you can select the spellchecking language by right-clicking on the main text area (in edit mode) and choosing it from the submenu "Languages".

It says Linux only but not really sure if it can be ported to windows or not?
