This response is profoundly unhelpful. I have searched (I even followed your link) and I don't see a link in those results to a Portable App version of Dropbox, so what good would searching before posting do?

No PortableApps Version of Dropbox (due to licensing?), but a whole lot of discussion about it including some requests already...
Whether it's available or not, the fact is that it's been requested, so your request is a duplicate. "Search before posting" is the rule which is stated when you go to create a thread, and you would have found that you were adding nothing new in this way.

I see nothing wrong with Chris encouraging people not to clutter the forums with posts that add no new content.
Likewise I have a low opinion of bumping an old thread only to nitpick at Chris.

I'm sure JTH integrated a search feature into his site for the express purpose of eliminating an obstacle or hinderance.
So if God says in his FAQ, "search before posting", then his acolytes are right to remind the worldly to do the same.
