Slightly unusual upgrade scenario

I have been using Firefox portable for some time now, and have bookmarks, etc stored in my profile. I also have a brand new install of the PortableApps suite including Firefox - with a later version installed.

What is the best way to "merge" my existing installation into the new installation, keeping the newer version but copying over my profile?

Thanks,
Paul.

PS One way I've though of is to replace the new copy with my older one, then run the updater to update it to the latest version. That doesn't seem particularly hard to do - would that be the best option?

Copy Data\

I understood you have no intention to keep the new profile, right? So, just copy the Data directory from the old to the new install (and keep the old install in the case something goes wrong).

Thanks. That's exactly right.

Thanks. That's exactly right. I wasn't sure if I'd lose anything by just copying the Data directory, so thanks for the confirmation.

Plugins, maybe

I'm not sure if plugins are stored in Data\Plugins or App\Firefox\Plugins. In any case, just copy the folder to the corresponding location.

extentions

you may find then that some extensions will not work any more and you have to update them or reinstall, but the rest should be ok.
