Sunbird 0.3 or Lightning 0.3?

Sunbird 0.3 or Lightning 0.3?

Mozilla development team used Sunbird and Lightning names for the same release ("0.3 Sunbird/Lightning Release")

Are those product identical -- ie can sunbird 0.3 be integrated with Thunderbird?
If not, will Lightning be provided as a portable app?

Basically identical

The two programs have separate names just to differentiate between the standalone and the integrated. Otherwise, there's no difference.

Sunbird is the standalone app, and cannot be integrated into Thunderbird. Lightning is an extension for Thinderbird, which as far as I know, means it will not need to be made portable. Just install it on Portable Thunderbird and you're good to go.
