Add custom links to the right side of the PortableApps Menu?

Is there any possible way to add custom links to the right side of the PortableApps Menu below Documents and such? I have made it possible to have the PortableApps Updater in the 1.6 Version, but want to make a link in the Menu so I don't have to navigate to the directory where the executable is located. Please post if you have any solutions to this. If it is not possible, that's fine, I just was wondering if it's possible. Here's a link on my website for an example of what I mean if you don't understand:

Thanks in advance for your help!

Not in this version

The area you indicated is meant for branding logos. I THINK that in the next rev, we should be able to customize the locations of the documents folders, but I'm not sure.
The solution that I've used in the past is to put shortcuts to folders in the left side.
I have a solution pre-made that makes it easy to add folder shortcuts to the left side on my homepage. Just go to the tab called "Miniapps".

The other alternate solution is to create a shortcut to the exe directly in the left side. It's pretty easy to do, you just need to create a dummy folder, add an appinfo.ini file in the right place, and add the path to start your exe (that's the tricky part, since you need to use relative paths, etc).

Here's a silly question, tho: If you need to use the updater, why are you still using the 1.6 version of the platform? 2.0 beta 5 is as stable as anything (from a practical view), and it already has the Updater built in.
Of course, you would need to repackage your custom theme, too, but that's actually easier to deal with in 2.0b5.

All right...

Thanks for your help. It's not so much that I need the updater, it's just that I don't really like the new format of 2.0, so I'm sticking with 1.6 for now... Oh, and I think using the MiniApps will somewhat solve my question. I just wondered if it was possible. And that's another thing, I didn't want to have to remake all of my custom themes, since I have many of them.

Someday

Someday, you will need to move to 2.0. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, maybe not soon, but at some point during your life...

(Yes, that was a Casablanca reference...)

If you decide you want to put a direct link to the updater, and you get stuck, let me know.

Yeah, I know.

I'll upgrade eventually... But, I did fix the issue. I've got it set up so the updater acts like an "app" and has it's own folder and everything. It just shows up in the left column as an app and I can click it for updates.

Thanks again for your help.

Why do you host our downloads?

Concerning your website, why are you hosting our downloads rather than linking to our site? While it is not illegal to host our files, we vastly prefer people to link to our site (not link to the downloads on SourceForge, though that's one step better than you're currently doing, as it'll get counted in the stats), but link to the app page, so that users can be sure they will get the latest version, and may see that we have many more apps that you haven't listed. And downloading from SourceForge is better than from MegaUpload and other such sites.

Oh, I guess I could do that.

I never really thought about it. I just thought that anyone who uses my site might want to have the MOST COMMONLY USED applications. I'll have to go through and change it. Thanks for the suggestion.

Link to the app page

You can just replace the download links with links to the app page. And remove the version number.

Changing the PortableApps Download Links

The Manage Apps/"Check for Updates" feature of the Menu/Beta 5 is really handy. If the file/version number is deleted from the PortableApps website, please make sure that it doesn't mess up the "Check for Updates" feature.
