portable java in what browser

i need java to download videos from keepvid site (youtube). what portable browser can i use to do that with portable java (jportable)?
i have firefox and chrome but it is not working...

None

All browsers use the host PC's configured Java Runtime Environment as specified in the registry (in a key only admins can change).

But if there's no Java installed...

I remember I was able to use jPortable and Chrome together... IIRC, by setting JAVA_HOME to X:\PortableApps\CommonFiles\Java and adding a --extra-plugin-dir=%JAVA_HOME%\bin\new_plugin in the command line.

Previously known as kAlug.
